I really need to post more often, or shut down the blog. I hope to post more as soon as the kids are back in school so hang in there with me.
Has anyone noticed the solicitous nature of the comment section? Presumably only on blogs like this one that are not updated frequently because my other blog doesn’t get them. Escort service? Really?
I’m not really sure of the direction of this blog. I’ve gone the political route but that seems to be preaching to the choir. I’m also sick of politics. I care very much what is going on with marriage equality but when someone like Richard Hatch says he was thrown in jail because he is gay rather than the very public tax evasion I have some issues.
I will post more often in the coming weeks so stay tuned. You can always check out my other blog which I manage to post to at least once a week at Redhead Ranting.
A few weeks ago, when I was highlighting the absurdity of a topic discussion on another website, someone linked to my Twitter because I referred to a bunch of garden tools.
Wayne Besen has it pretty bad too on his blog.
About Richard Hatch, one does have to admit that he was a controversial figure on Survivor. Not to mention, there are people who treat these reality shows like they're the second coming. So the notion that some nutball prosecutor could have gone after him because he was gay, is plausible.
It's happened before.
What remains unanswered, at least for me, is how CBS could have given someone a check for one million dollars and apparently not told the man that it was up to him to pay the taxes on those winnings. Or take out the taxes themselves.
How many people do any of us know personally or even friend of a friend who have been jailed for tax evasion. My personal count is zero. I'm sure he was given numerous opportunities to pay his taxes, he just chose not to.
His defense that the show or the network said they would pay his taxes is a bit absurd. What network, tv show, contest, or employer for that matter, pays your taxes on your winnings/earnings?

Hiya Jen, I really enjoy your blog and the point of view you share. I wish you the best, but am secretly keeping my fingers crossed that you stick around:)
Take Care,
Christine
I'm sorry to hear you are thinking of closing this blog. I hope you'll hang in there ( I'll visit your other blog). I have an idea about the solicitaion thing. It seems if you go more than a couple of weeks strange things show up in your comment section.
As far as the subject of your blog…. well…does it really need to follow one particular topic. Nope! Just write what's on your mind. We'll read it
Aww, please don't close it. It's okay if you need to take breaks or you're hesitant to write because you're not sure of your desired direction (or don't have time to write). I'm sure there are still plenty of people reading older posts and maybe you'll get a burst of writing in you later at some point, and closing here will only discourage you from actually posting then.
